Yes the Log Home Doctors and Home Remedy Builders are at the Lake and Cabin Show. We are truly excited to see what the shiw has instore for us. We took 4 of or great sales staff to assist all the new freinds and future Log Home or Log Cabin owners with questions or help them book there new Log Home, Log addition or schedule there Log Home checkup or refinish project.

Just a hint of advice to 2013 customers. We have had a large number of people booking projectsand dobto this some of our home specalist are booked out as far as the end of August. please dont waitbto book your projects.

I just wanted to share that as The Log Home Doctors and Hiawatha Log Homes were at the Madison 2013 Lake and Cabin Show we saw great interest in product and building for the future. I think that was a good sign of whats to come. I truly believe that our attitude reflects towards our day what the true out come will be. I know we are walking away from the show looking forward to the next years and also going to Shamburg, Il Show in the future.

The Doctor

It is getting later in the year in 2012. Many things are happening this time of year. Elections are on every ad on TV now leaves are blowing and the days are getting shorter.

We are closing in on that time of year were one day it can change overnight.  

We here at the Log Home Doctors and Home Remedy Builders have had many great projects this season. It has been a long run. This season has been the busiest in years. We are seeing this going into next year already we are booked threw part of the next years season with both refinishing projects as well as 2 new homes for next season already. 

We are thankful to all for the great season we had and want to encourage you that if you have thoughts of booking work for the 2013 season please don’t hesitate to get your plans in our books soon to get your projects done in the next years calender.

We are still doing projects daily weather permitting and building, and Log repair year round.

I encourage you to stop in and look at our Hiawatha Packages. I really beleive they are second to none. We have had Logs come in the past from some suppliers that weren’t always  as uniform as they could have been and we have had to do much extra finishing to make them match perfectly. With Hiawatha we have never had those problems. We are so thankful that there quality of workmanship and products are second to none.

Today we recieved our first two semi loads of materail. The power is on at the building site, tool are there and skytrac ready to move some materail and rause a new Log Home. The Log Home Doctors building crews willnstart on Monday morning by framing basement walls on exposed sides. Then they will start putting on floor deck system. Then they will start raising the walls. His home is a half log construction unlike the other one we did this spring. Check back to see the progress.

We are excited to see the Conlin project get started. It will be a Half Log constructed home. It will be a beautiful looking Log home when done. We had some setbacks getting it going due to the lot and closeness to  the water. But now we are starting tomorrow getting first trees down and hauled out. Then the basement dig and next a basement.

After all that we will get the building crew in there and frame and get it enclosed as quick as we can.

Make sure you don’t allow your log home or log cabin go past it’s point of keeping it in great shape.

If you keep your log home or log cabin in great shape it will last forever. when you let it go past the point of having protection or mold build up, you have just created a bigger bill. Log or wood structures need TLC. Years back cars needed wax to keep rust from taking over and wrecking the car. Logs don’t rust but they do get moldy, dirty, and many otter things if not taken care of. 

Please keep on your log home or wood surface maintenance. Let your home last for years of happy memories and fun times.

This is such s great question. After building log homes from many company’s and different styles why a Hiawatha log home.

I truly believe that there saddle notch corner with the Swedish coped bottoms has such a well machined fit next to none. This means several things to a builder. They don’t have to have additional work on window and door bucks. With flat log stacking surfaces you need to go threw so many extra steps to get the strength that comes naturally on the saddle notch and Swedish cope logs.

They truly stand alone. It’s no joke. During hurricane winds some of these were the only thing standing down south.

The way they are designed they won’t take on water even if not caulked during regular rains due to the shape of the cope on the logs. A flat surface of many other suppliers would leak for sure.

The other thing is that they machined to have the corners fit so tight that they interlock and couldn’t move. Most companies use a foam gasket and caulk between seams and Haiwatha uses wool that doesn’t break down and crush it stays soft and works better as a insulator for years to come. Think of your old wool sweaters they last forever. There are many reasons but a challenge you to to stop in and let us show you the difference. I guarantee you will be amazed.
